Firelight- Sophie Jordan

Title: Firelight
Author: Sophie Jordan
Format: E-Book
Source: Bought new
Rating: 4/5

Goodread Summary:

I stumbled upon Firelight. I had recently received me e-reader and was looking for some books to purchase for it.  I came across it for a few dollars on my reader store and it included a good rating from Goodreads so I decided to purchase it and try it out. Dragons are not usually my thing but I thought why not.  It was so good. I could not put it down.
The Cover is amazing. It is one of my favourite covers of 2011 if not ever. I love the colors and the visual it gives to the story.
The POV is mostly from Jacinda who is a fire Draki. We see her struggle with what her pride wants and what she wants.   I liked Jacinda, I found she was a realistic character, she may be a drake but she still has human emotions and when her mom makes a decision that changes her life she does not take it well just like anyone else. Then Will appears. Oh Will you are so great. I wish I could meet him, he sounds like an awesome guy. He surprised me. I liked him from that start and kept on liking him.
Tamara and Jacinda’s mom I was not a huge fan of. I understood Tamara’s resentment but I felt like she was pretty harsh on Jacinda like being a drake was Jacinda’s choice.  Her mom I felt was also very harsh on Jacinda and seemed to favour Tamara.  I understand why she felt she related to Tamara more but I also did not like how she treated Jacinda at all. I hope I like both characters in the next book much more.
I am torn about Cassin.  I hate how he treats Jacinda and her family but I seen glimmer’s of something more under the surface and I do not think he is all bad. I hope he improves in Vanish.
I gave this book a 4/5 and I eagerly anticipate reading Vanish.
A hidden truth.
Mortal enemies.
Doomed love.

Marked as special at an early age, Jacinda knows her every move is watched. But she longs for freedom to make her own choices. When she breaks the most sacred tenet among her kind, she nearly pays with her life. Until a beautiful stranger saves her. A stranger who was sent to hunt those like her. For Jacinda is a draki—a descendant of dragons whose greatest defense is her secret ability to shift into human form.
Forced to flee into the mortal world with her family, Jacinda struggles to adapt to her new surroundings. The only bright light is Will. Gorgeous, elusive Will who stirs her inner draki to life. Although she is irresistibly drawn to him, Jacinda knows Will's dark secret: He and his family are hunters. She should avoid him at all costs. But her inner draki is slowly slipping away—if it dies she will be left as a human forever. She'll do anything to prevent that. Even if it means getting closer to her most dangerous enemy.
Mythical powers and breathtaking romance ignite in this story of a girl who defies all expectations and whose love crosses an ancient divide.
